Chinese Government Scholarships
China’s government provides 11 fully-funded scholarships exclusively for international students who wish to pursue higher education in China. These scholarships cover various fields of study, ensuring that there is an opportunity available for every applicant.
ELIGIBILITY: Non-Chinese students in good health are eligible for these scholarships, although the specific eligibility requirements may differ depending on the scholarship.
AWARD: The recipients of these scholarships will be granted a full fee waiver for tuition, accommodation, and medical insurance. Additionally, they may be provided with a monthly or yearly stipend, which varies according to the specific scholarship.

The MOFCOM Scholarship was established by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China with the aim of enhancing communication and collaboration between China and other nations, and to cultivate talented individuals from developing countries. Since 2015, the scholarship program has focused on supporting young and middle-aged students from recipient countries in pursuing postgraduate degrees in China. The China Scholarship Council is responsible for administering the scholarship on behalf of MOFCOM.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is available to students who fulfill the following criteria:
- Citizenship of a developing country other than the People’s Republic of China
- Age under 45 years (born after September 1, 1974)
- Good physical and mental health confirmed by a medical examination report from a local public hospital, and free from any listed diseases or conditions
- Minimum of three years of work experience
- Hold a bachelor’s degree if applying for a master’s program, and a master’s degree if applying for a doctoral program
- Proficiency in English language that meets the academic requirements of the program, equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, or a TOEFL score of 80 or above.
AWARD: Selected students will receive various benefits, which include exemption from the following fees:
International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship
Each year, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation provides a scholarship with the aim of meeting the increasing need for Chinese language instructors and supporting the promotion of Chinese language education in other nations.
ELIGIBILITY: Individuals who are not Chinese citizens, aged between 16 and 35, in good physical and mental health, have an academic record above average, and have a strong commitment to Chinese language education are eligible for this scholarship.
AWARD: Successful applicants will receive full coverage of tuition fees, accommodation fees, a living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance. The amount of the living allowance will vary depending on the type of scholarship awarded.
